Rules of Footgolf

Footgolf is based on three sports:

Football Soccer- Golf- Mini Golf

The objective of Footgolf is to kick the ball from point A to point B using as few kicks (strokes) as possible.

All 18 of our courses are different and feature various types of obstacles between the start and the finish.

Game Rules

* You have a maximum of **8 kicks** per hole.
* The ball may only be moved by **kicking it with your feet**.
* The ball must **always come to a complete stop** before your next kick.
* If the ball comes to rest against an obstacle—such as a small building or another object that makes it impossible to continue—you may move the ball **90 cm (3 feet) backward**, **away from the target**, and then continue playing.
* If the ball goes onto a neighbouring hole, retrieve it and place it back at the point where it crossed the boundary. This results in a **one-kick penalty (+1 stroke)**.
* If the ball lands in the long grass, you may pick it up by hand and place it back onto the course before continuing play.

House Rules

You're welcome to create your own rules if you wish. However, if you do, your final score cannot be considered an official result and cannot be compared with the official course records.

You are free to add your own penalties, bonus challenges, or other variations to make the game more enjoyable for your group.

Now that the former **Hole 18** has been renovated, it is once again available for play.

If you like, you can play the regular **17 holes** on the main course and finish with the **Old Course / Bonus Hole**.

The standard rules apply on the Bonus Hole as well, but here it is also possible to score **negative points (-)**. This can be useful if several players finish the main course with very similar scores, as the Bonus Hole can be used to determine the overall winner.

International Footgolf Rules

For international competitions, only the rules established and approved by the **WFGA (World Footballgolf Association)** apply.

The official WFGA rules are currently available **only in English** as a PDF document.

At the time of writing, the international rules have not been translated into other languages.
